Web development

Websites that load fast, rank well, and convert.

Editorial design, modern stack, baked-in performance and SEO. We build sites that look like the brand they're selling — and prove their worth in your analytics.

What we build

Sites engineered for the bottom line.

A website is a sales tool. We treat it like one. That means design that looks like a real brand (not a template), engineering that makes Lighthouse scores green by default, and a CMS your team can actually update without us.

WordPress where it makes sense (most marketing sites). Headless / Next.js where it’s worth the extra cost. We pick the simpler option whenever it’ll do the job, and we don’t ship “modern stack” theatre that nobody on your team can maintain.

What you get

Three things on every project.

01

Performance & SEO baked in

Core Web Vitals green by default, schema markup, OG cards, sitemap — set up once, working from launch.

02

A CMS your team can use

Block-based, role-based, sensible. No 200-page training doc. No "log a ticket to change a heading".

03

Conversion-aware design

Forms, CTAs, trust elements, AI live-chat hooks — designed to turn visitors into enquiries, not just look pretty.

How a build runs

Four phases. 4–8 weeks typical.

Discovery & sitemap

Week 1. Brand audit, page inventory, content plan. We agree what every page is for before any design starts.

Design

Weeks 2–3. Wireframes first, then full design system. One round of structured revision built into the price.

Build & QA

Weeks 3–6. Engineering, content load, cross-browser QA, accessibility checks. You see staging from week 4 onwards.

Launch & aftercare

Week 6+. DNS cutover, analytics QA, 30 days of post-launch warranty. Optional retainer for ongoing changes.

Specifics

What's in the box.

Custom WordPress themes

Editorial-grade themes built for editors, not page-builders. This site you're on is one of them.

Headless / Next.js

For sites that need it: ecommerce, large content libraries, app-like UX. Same SEO discipline, modern frontend.

WooCommerce / Stripe

Storefronts, subscription products, B2B catalogues. Wired into your stock, fulfilment, and accounting.

Migrations

From Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, legacy WordPress, custom CMSes — without losing rankings or breaking URLs.

Performance & SEO audits

Standalone audits if you don't need a rebuild — actionable, prioritised, with a fixed-price implementation quote attached.

AI & chat integration

Embed Danson AI's chat widget, hook into your CRM, drive enquiries from the moment a visitor lands.

Common questions

Before you commission.

What's the cost range?

Marketing sites typically £6,000–£25,000 depending on page count and design custom-ness. Ecommerce starts around £12,000. Headless / app-like builds quoted separately. Audits start at £950.

WordPress or something else?

WordPress for most marketing sites — it's mature, your team can edit it, and modern WordPress is genuinely fast when built properly. We use Next.js / headless when there's a real reason (large catalogues, app-like UX, multi-region).

Can you keep our existing rankings?

Yes — we're meticulous about URL maps, redirects, and on-page SEO during migration. Most of our migrated sites retain or grow organic traffic within 60 days of launch.

Will my team be able to edit it?

Yes. Block-based editing, custom blocks for the elements that matter, training session at handover. We don't build sites only we can update.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Optional care plans from £150/mo: hosting, updates, security monitoring, and a small change budget each month. Without a plan, you get a 30-day warranty and we quote ad-hoc work as it comes up.

Ready for a real website?

Tell us where you're stuck. We'll quote in days, not weeks.
